The Health Check

The Health check is the means used to identify your strengths and weaknesses and takes the form of a series of questions designed to look at how effectively you operate
A score is generated to see whether you have reached that level in the pyramid
An improvement plan is agreed to identify what you should do, what you are recommended to do, and other areas that you may feel you need to improve.

Assessors and Facilitators
In addition to a knowledgeable person within your group who will represent your organisation, there is..

An Assessor who will mark each section of the Health Check, and

A Facilitator who help you and the Assessor to interpret the Health Check questions in light of the way your group functions.

Accreditation
Once you have completed your Health Check and done any necessary follow up work to get the best score possible it is sent to the Accreditation Unit. If you have achieved a Green score, you will receive your Accreditation Certificate which is valid for three years. If you receive an Amber score then it will be valid for one year.

Follow Up and Continuous Improvement
But it doesn’t stop there: You are encouraged to use the follow up process to check that your ways of working follow good practice, but to continue to improve your group’s practices.
